CHARMETAL is a steel construction company based in Casablanca. We design,
fabricate and erect steelwork for industrial buildings, infrastructure and
civil engineering.
How we work
We take the structure through in one continuous chain: the design calculations,
the shop drawings, workshop fabrication, protective treatment, then lifting and
erection on site.
That continuity is not a sales line, it is a matter of programme. On site, time
is rarely lost in execution. It is lost at the interfaces, between the company
that calculated, the one that fabricated and the one that erects. Handling all
three removes those interfaces.
What we take on
- Engineering — load take-off, seismic verification, design calculations. Nothing goes into fabrication before it has been calculated.
- Drawings — general arrangement and shop drawings, with bill of materials and piece marking.
- Fabrication — cutting, drilling, assembly, welding, dimensional inspection.
- Protective treatment — hot dip galvanising or paint system, chosen against the site's corrosivity class.
- Erection — lifting, bolting, alignment, handover and as-built documentation.
Our six families of work
- Structural steelwork — portal frames, trusses, purlins, bracing
- Metal construction — cladding, roofing, floors, staircases
- Cut and bent rebar — cutting, bending, cages
- Steel profiles and hollow sections — supply and cutting
- Pylons and fittings — telecom and power lattice towers
- Piping and civil works — networks, supports, concrete works
Three working principles
Calculate before fabricating. A steel structure is designed,
not copied from a previous job. Span, height, seismic zone and ground conditions
change on every site.
Protect according to real exposure. The Moroccan coast imposes
corrosion constraints that inland sites do not face. Applying the same system
everywhere means either overpaying or watching the structure degrade.
Commit to a lead time that holds. A programme includes
procurement, fabrication, protective treatment — which may go through a
galvanising subcontractor — and erection. We commit at quotation, once drawings
are approved, not before.
The technical framework
Our structures are designed to the Eurocodes and verified against
RPS 2011, the seismic construction regulation applicable across
Morocco. Execution follows EN 1090-2, structural steels
EN 10025-2 and reinforcing steels NM 01.4.096.
These references describe the framework we work within. The list of certifications
held by the company is provided on request.
Where we work
From Casablanca, across the whole of Morocco. Greater Casablanca, Mohammedia,
Berrechid and Settat routinely; Rabat, Kenitra, El Jadida, Tangier, Marrakesh
and Agadir depending on the nature and size of the job.
